The Lieutenant John Martinson Memorial Foundation was formed to keep the spirit of “Johnny Nice Guy “alive.  John will forever be remembered as a selfless individual, a man who put the needs of others before his own.

A man whose mere presence provided a sense that everything would be okay, that the job would get done.

Our Mission And Statement

The Lt. John Martinson Memorial Foundation was formed to provide assistance to members of our community who, through fate, have been dealt a life of extraordinary challenges. In the five years of its existence, the foundation has distributed over $55,000 to deserving individuals, families and organizations.

Our proudest moments were providing the funds to purchase a vehicle for the Fire Family Transport Foundation and to put the roof on the home built for USMC CPL Todd Nicely by the Building Homes for Hero’s organization.

The events of September 11, 2001 left an indelible mark on the lives of survivors and first responders. Our foundation has been there to help ease the financial burden placed on members of the FDNY and their families.

Our financial assistance helped fund autism research, supplied much needed equipment to local youth sport leagues and even sent a few kids to summer camp.

The recipients’ stories and circumstances are all unique, but they share a common need, a need that you have allowed us to fill. All this and much more, has been done in the name of a good man, John Martinson.
